No-Code / Low-Codeexplained

Tools that let you build software with visual builders and little or no programming — fast to start, with limits as you scale.

In plain English

No-code platforms let you assemble an app or website by dragging and configuring components, no programming required. Low-code sits a step over: mostly visual, but with room to drop in custom code where you need it. Think of it as buying a pre-built kitchen versus having one made to measure.

For validating an idea, an internal tool, or a first version, no-code is often the smartest, cheapest path — you can have something live in days. Many successful products started as a no-code MVP to prove demand before a single line of custom code was written.

The limits show up as you grow: performance ceilings, awkward custom logic, per-user pricing that balloons, and difficulty doing exactly the thing that makes your product different. The sensible play is to use no-code to prove the idea, then move the parts that need to be fast, flexible, or genuinely yours onto custom code — without rebuilding everything at once.
